Hi, I’m Keith McDonald. A Few Miles From Somewhere is primarily about art for small spaces. Think bathrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, hallways, foyers, and those little strips of wall space just above and around your entry doors. The art we feature includes photos printed on fine art papers with archival inks, original paintings, painted reused bottles, mixed media, digital graphics, shelves, and wooden flags created by me and my dad, Joseph McDonald. We create what we like and experiment with new things all the time.  The items for sale in our store will change frequently and are mostly one-of-kind.

 

We chose the name A Few Miles From Somewhere because we have always lived a few miles from somewhere pretty well known. Right now, we’re living just a few miles from the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign at the base of the world famous Las Vegas Strip! And while we are just a few miles from one of the hottest vacation spots in the world, you would never know it! I have lived in New York City and just a few miles from the Center of the Universe, commonly known as Boston! And, I’ve had the pleasure to travel to some really cool places that are off the beaten path, just a few miles from somewhere special.

 

My blog will feature articles about my art and photography, my general interest in art as well as places which I have visited, including places near my current home of Las Vegas. There are plenty of websites and sources that will have lots of details about the Las Vegas Strip. But if you’re visiting Las Vegas, a new resident, or potential future resident looking for things to do in the area that are off the beaten path known as The Strip, then you might find some interest in my blog.
